The Art of Politics

In a few days time Pakistan is going to excercise its right to self governance. It is an historical landmark if achieved successfully. The last time Pakistan choked following the conspiracy hatched by the Mulla-Military Alliance (MMA) in 1977. The elected Prime Minister was hanged and the foundations were laid for the establishment of an exterme & Taliban state. The next 11 years saw the left, especially PPP, were singled out and publically humiliated and Right were publicly honoured. The political Islam was included in education slybus & state servents were praised and rewarded for being ultra-religious. In 1985, through the non-party based elections, political nation was divided into non-political clans, giving rise to the politics of 'Electables'. The local influence and resources, read money, became the tools for success. The National level leaders like the late BB started becoming irrelevent & Local body level leaders like Nawaz Sharif of PMLN started gaining prominence; therefore the 'development' became the yardstick of success at the center. This yardstick is still relevant as of today. The rulers of Punjab still ask for votes for their 'development projects', although it is a Local body level issue.

On May 11, 2013, Pakistan, after almost 36 years, will go to Elections based on issues (anti- Terror or pro-Terror) since 1977. This in itself is success. The PTI has gethered good support based on issues & parties like PPP, ANP & MQM are attracting voters based on issues as well. It doesn't matter whether liberal parties are allowed to do electioneering or not. The most important thing is Pakistan is democratically changing towards a sustainable democracy. Irrespective of the actual no of seats & victoy margins, New system will stand won.

The only thing that is going against PPP is the sense its voters are getting, to some extent, that 'a plot is being hatched' to keep it away from elections and victory. It happened in 1997 and PPP voters silently boycotted the elections. If PPP manages to make people aware that nobody is keeping PPP away then the TV ads, Newspaper ads and rest of the Electioneering is enough for huge PPP vote bank to cast their votes on the election day. If BISP figures are correct then all the rest of the parties should be ready for a massive surprise in terms of PPP wining the elections. The PPP so far has limited success in making their followers aware that due to Media, Judiciary and Independent election commission there is no plot being hatched. If PPP Jiyalas do not silently boycott elections then PPP should be able to retain its current position in all provincial assemblies & national assembly with an addition of about 10% seats & achieve simple majority to form government in Center with their Sindhi Allies. With Senate already secured for atleast another two years & PMLN supporting on real democratic issues, all is set for the current PPP-led system to continue & become a formidable forum of peoples' voices.

This election would see the start of the elimination of regional and religious parties, another success of PPP idealogy. Come next elections in 2018 & there will only be a fight between the Right & Left on idealogical basis; not a small achievement by any standard. At that time Pakistan will have a vibrant and regulated media, a transparant judiciary and strong civil society with the advance Internet and communications links. Therefore, Pakistan is only one May 11(elections) away from realising the dreams of its founding father. The PPP will achieve its idealogical objectives and the honourable President his Best Revenage; the democracy.

Pakistan should come out to vote on May11, 2013 and beat the extermists, dictatorial & anti- people forces. The PMLN supporters, PTI Supporters & rest will be voting, not only to make their party win, but to strenghten the system put in place by the PPP & its allies.  Irrespective of the final seat count and name of the winning party, Pakistan will win and the credit will go to the Symbol of the federation, The Honourable President of Pakistan; Asif Ali Zardari.

Vote on May 11, 2013 & change Pakistan from a country of dictators & extermists into a country of peace loving democratic & responsible nation.

The Defence of Pakistan

'A Pakistani base is attacked and 24 solders are killed'. The News feed from the ISPR.

Although no one saw any deadbody nor the actual site of the incident. There was neither any proof nor any confirmation that there was an actual attack by the US forces and that solders were actually killed at the site. The incident 'did take place', according to the Pak Army and its ally, the US. An  apology was demanded by the Pakistani Army which was denied by the US.

The Military immediately, after the attack, stopped all supply routes to Nato forces in Afghanistan and demanded an unconditional apology. The ally 'refused' to apologise. The 'stage' was set and 'performers' started performing their roles.

Next in line was ISI's proxy wing comprising of the rightists & extremists who were instructed to formulate Defa-e-Pakistan organisation for highlighting US's brutality and refusal to apologise. The actors performed their role better than their wages and made their paymasters happy. They organised different relies and public gatherings in all the major cities of Pakistan. The media was already fed to highlight the activities of the organisation and everything was working according to the plan. The new platform threatened to bring to halt the Government of President Zardari should the Govt dared to open supply routes again. Profound rightist Imran khan, along with other center-right parties voiced his opinion against the Government and accused them of being the 'servents of America'. The government was blackmailed into sorting a new way to collaborate with the US.

The Government convened an APC (All Parties Conference) and all political parties devised new 'rules of engagement' with the US. Hence the responsibly of 'engagement' with the US & War On Terror was successfully transferred to the 'bloody Civilians'. The military was no more responsible for all the evils associated with the 'cooperation' with the US in Afghanistan. Although, even as of today all dealings are as they were before and political elite has no clue about military dealings or operations: kept strictly between Pakistani Military and the US.

Lets say all of the above is wrong. Everything mentioned above is conspiracy theory. Then why this Defa-e-Pakistan is not on the roads shouting 'President you lead, we all are with you' (Zardari Qadam Barhao, Hum tumhare saath hai)? After all, President defied US and acted in Pakistan's best interests by signing the agreement with Iran. They would surely come out on roads to provide support to the President of Pakistan and send a clear message to the US that President enjoys full public support? Is it not what they had been demanding of him by holding large rallies?

If not then one must not fool oneself by trusting the story masterfully narrated by the Gods-of-all in Pakistan that there was an attack by the US forces on Pakistani checkpost killing 24solders, US refused to apologise for the horrific act and that Parliament were to decide about Pakistan's cooperation with the Allied forces in Afghanistan. It is, infact, was a very planned way to transfer the responsibility from Militray to Politician that cooperation with the US was granted by the Parliament and not by a military regime. As was the case with the so-called Memo-Gate scandal. When the then ISI head very cleverly transferred all the attention from Military to the Government following the gross failure of our Military to protect the borders and could not do anything to stop US marines attacking Abottabad and sending the terrorist to hell.

Pakistani people must decide to make all institutes answerable to the Parliament, even if that means a struggle for 100 years. Pakistan's future lies in open and transparent democracy.

The Punjabi Media

As in case of all walks of life in Pakistan, the media is dominated by Punjab: predominately conservative and hence by default against left and right-left parties like ANP & PPP.

http://m.awaztoday.com/playshow.aspx?pageID=35635&vSource=2

The programs' default design is against a particular group. In this program, for instance, three pieces of news were picked, all against PPP. This segment of the program is supposed to be about current news items about current government officials. When the PPP government was in power it was about the office holders of PPP. Now the government has changed. Instead of commenting the activities of current Interior Minster (as supposed to be according to the segment's purpose) but former Interior Minster is still being discussed. Since the purpose didn't allow to malign PPP, the purpose was ignored altogether along with facts: the government has changed.

So what is the purpose of this segment: to make public aware of the activities of their representatives in funny way or malign the 'chosen' ones? If the purpose of the segment is to highlight the activities of formers then why only PPP? First there was a coalition government and then  there was an interior minister in Punjab as well. Did this program malign the interior minster f Punjab for horrid things happened in Punjab like killing of two brothers in broad day light?

Mr. Malik was fighting with enemies that the whole world has been fighting for the last 12 years in Afghanistan with similar results. This is a political problem that require political solution as we are seeing now in Afghanistan. If you want to malign some one for bad law and order situation then malign those who defend these extremist and do not let the political consensus get developed. Instead programs like this project them as a sign of 'Change'.

One day, democracy will get the steering wheel of Pakistani car from  ignorant and self-centred righteous electronic media journalists in order to put Pakistan on the path of truth, hard work and prosperity.

The Democratic Selection

The democratic process gives people the right to select their representatives and this process of selection through casting votes, based on simple majority, is called election in Pakistan.

The political parties or the people in their individual capacity offer their candidature to the public to select them.

The law enforcement agencies are entrusted with law and order and in coordination with the justice system make sure that the environment is conducive for the public to use their right to selection without any influence. At the same time, these institutes make sure that no individual or the Organization able to influence the selection process, through ballet, through unlawful means.

The election commission's role is to make use of the infrastructure to provide each candidate level playing Field. For instance creating n upper limit for expenses and making sure that limit is followed by all individuals irrespective of their party affiliations or individual candidacy.

But no government institute or the election commission should create rules that restrict any individual from offering candidature. If some one is a tax evader then it is not election commission's work to disqualify the candidate. It is the work of the relevant department to use the justice system to bring the culprit to justice. The election commission, even if notified about any such credential issues, should categorically reject to get involved. Whether the political parties conduct intra-party elections, a candidate defaulted on a loan or couldn't pay a utility bill should not have to do anything with their candidature.

The election commission should run awareness programs, arrange transportation for the masses, coordinate law and order situation and try eliminating any departmental influence to favor an individual or a party contesting. Any individual or organisation threatening to use unlawful force to influence the elections by intimidating a particular group must be sorted outwith zero tolerance.

If the masses are given peaceful space without any influence then it is the right, duty and jursdiction  of the people to eliminate the loan defaulters, tax evaders that they have been made aware of  by the activities of the election commission. The election commission should not take this elimination process under its wings. Otherwise the people will have limited affiliation with the successful candidates 'pre-qualified' by the election commission. In that case the whole purpose of having election commission and election will be defeated.

The Standard of Justice

The former PM has apparently tried to 'influence' the course of justice, according to the CJ. An elected PM has not got the right to ask for an opinion on what he thinks would be a better approach? Instead of giving advice by the servants of People to the head of peoples' representatives by interpreting the constitution, the the independence of judiciary resulted into issuing a contempt notice.

The judiciary should be an independent arm of the elected PM and help him in providing justice to the ones elected him to the highest post in Pakistan, the way he thinks best. The judiciary cannot decide the course of justice. They work in the structure laid down by the elected representatives.

Needless to say that the son of the same CJ on his personal request got his wish fulfilled; establishment of a commission. The independence of judicary did not result into court contempt when the son of CJ requested for a commission.

For how long and through how many ways we will continue insulting, character assassinating, disqualifying, murdering and hanging the true representatives of People?

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mHediQJ7Mss

The independence of the judiciary needs social review by the people of Pakistan otherwise it is fast becoming uncontrollable juggernaut of dictatorial practices that will ultimately result into choas. This  time there will not be any 'chain' to shed her blood to keep Pakistan intact. Better late than never.

The Democrats of Pakistan

The Dictator is IN and Principled Democrats of Pakistan, PML-N & PTI are Out

It is amazing to to note what has happened to the most vocal Punjabi; Shahbaz Sharif? Until recently he wanted to hang the elected President of Pakistan upside down. Why is he not raising his vice and mobilising people to bring the Dictator to Justice?

Where is Nawaz Sharif? The principled politician who took no time to take the President of Pakistan to Supreme court on so called "Memo-Gate"? Why is he not knocking at the door of Supreme Court regarding the dictator?

What has happened to the rest of PML-N? The party that draws pride from their 'struggle' for Democracy and 'pushing' the Dictator out of the country? Why they are not raising their voices?

Where is the biggest hypocrite of our political elite: Imran Khan? 'He will not take oath from a 'criminal' president'. But he took oath from a Dictator (Gen. Musharaf). According to the hypocrites of PTI, the current Goverment has been collaborating with USA regarding drone attacks and the person who claims that he agreed all the collaboration, is not getting their attention at all. The 'Purified' Imran Khan cannot see that the person who suspended the constitution, the person who committed   crime against Pakistani  people and the one who was accountable for all security ills for which he held PPP coalition Govt. respnsible, is in Pakistan. He should take this person to the INDEPENDENT supreme court for;

Taking Pakistan into 'American War'
Drone attacks on Pakistan
Terrorism inside Pakistan like Hazara community in Quetta (where he went to condole people)
Resultant destroyed economic environment
Murder of so many innocent Pakistanis and significant personalities due to the fact that Pakistan was ' taken into' American war.

If these parties cannot take Dictator to Justice then they have no right to say that they will give our beloved country, Pakistan, a different direction.

The High Treason

A unanimously elected Prime Minister can be sent home. An elected president can be brought in front of a magistrate of another country for an 'alleged' crime. But a dictator cannot be taken notice of; reason being that  the second part of Article 6 of the constitution of Pakistan states not only the one who suspends the constituion (Gen. Musharaf) but also the ones who collaborate (Pakistani Judiciary including current Chief Justice legitimised Martial Law in 1999) should be hanged to death.

The current 'face of change', Imran Khan, supported and campaigned for Gen. Mushraf in his referendum to become the President of Pakistan.

All are guilty of high treason.
